No. NitroGPT works entirely in your browser and has no connection to OpenAI's servers or ChatGPT's model. It reduces browser-side lag caused by large conversation pages becoming heavy in your browser tab — not AI response speed. NitroGPT is not affiliated with or endorsed by OpenAI.

No — nothing is deleted. Your full conversation always stays in your ChatGPT account; NitroGPT simply renders fewer messages at a time to keep the page light. Bring older messages back on screen anytime by clicking "Load previous" or "Load all" in the banner, or turn NitroGPT off to render the whole conversation.
After your 7-day Pro trial, the free plan keeps 80 messages visible (fixed) and allows 30 boosted prompts per day. Pro features like the adjustable message window (80-200), full-conversation search, Quiet Mode, and Unlimited Boosted Prompts require a NitroGPT Pro license.
NitroGPT is built and tested for Google Chrome and Firefox. It should also work in supported Chromium-based browsers such as Microsoft Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, and Opera. Compatibility with all Chromium browsers is not guaranteed.
All paid plans include 3 active browser installations. You can deactivate NitroGPT on your current browser from within the extension popup. If you no longer have access to an old browser or computer, open a support ticket and we can help reset your activations.
Lifetime means access for the lifetime of the NitroGPT product, as long as NitroGPT remains actively maintained and technically compatible with supported browsers and ChatGPT. NitroGPT depends on the ChatGPT web interface, which is controlled by OpenAI. We actively maintain compatibility, but cannot guarantee against all future third-party changes.
ChatGPT's interface is controlled by OpenAI and changes from time to time. When a change affects NitroGPT, we work to patch it as quickly as we can — that ongoing maintenance is exactly what your subscription funds. We can't promise OpenAI will never ship a change that's impossible to support, but keeping NitroGPT working is our priority. You can check the current state on our status page and see what we've shipped on the changelog.
